Indoor Air Quality

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ranks indoor air pollution among the top five environmental risks to public health. EPA studies indicate that indoor levels of many pollutants may be 25 times - and occastionally more than 100 times - higher than outdoor levels. There are several steps you can take to make your home healthier:

  • Install a whole house humidfier that keeps your home more comfortable in the cold winter months, reduces static electricity buildup, helps prevent your sinuses from getting dry and helps keep the woodwork in your home from drying and cracking.  In addition, proper humidity levels can prevent the growth of many types of viruses, mold spores and bacteria.
  • Upgrade your poor performing filtration system on your furnace with a high performance 5" media filter from Trion or an electronic air cleaner like the TRANE CleanEffects that provides up to 99.98% removal airborne allergens from filtered air including the flu virus.
  • Install a Sanuvox UV Air Cleaner that eradicates bacteria, viruses and mold in the air.  It also destroys chemical and biological odors in the home.
